2022 Captains Day supporting ‘Sebastian’s Action Trust’ – Christmas in July!

Sadly, for some families Christmas is a time of sadness rather than joy. Their beloved child has passed away, or is too sick to enjoy the festivities. The charity like to bring the joy of Christmas to them and all our families earlier in the year by celebrating it in July – enabling them to have fun, to spend time together and make memories that will last a lifetime. Sandford Springs will be having fun and raising money to support them!

The theme of the day will be to celebrate Christmas, so please think of fun fancy dress ideas to take part. We will award prizes to the team that makes the biggest impression!

Some of our members like to play 18 holes and some like 27 holes on Captain’s day, so we want to give you the opportunity to play 18 or 27 as you wish. We will have 9 holes in the morning, and then 18 holes in the afternoon, all in shotgun format.

Agenda for the day:

• Sign in for morning golf at 8am for 9 holes of golf (coffee/tea and Bacon Rolls), 9 hole shotgun, singles stableford between 9 and 11 across one loop.
• Sign in for afternoon golf at 11am (coffee and mince pies), 18 hole shotgun, pairs betterball stableford. Nearest the pin, beat the pro, longest drive etc.

We will have glamourous assistants driving around the course giving out refreshments during the day.

We plan fun golf skill games between 4pm and 6pm

BBQ served from 6pm with a Christmas twist, crackers and carols at which time we will conduct an auction of any pledges we have managed to obtain. (if any members are able to supply pledges for auction, we would be most grateful)

The cost for the event is £35, and you can sign up on IG for both golf competitions. We will charge for the 18 hole event in the afternoon, please sign up with your partner. The morning event will be free to enter, sign up as single players, but there will be prizes.
